On Wednesday, April 6th, 2022, Eastern Staffing & Recruiting was honored to have WBNG TV reporter, Rachel Velez stopped by the office and interview Frank McCarthy, Eastern’s Vice President on the current state of the job market.

Frank explained that the market has been very competitive since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Employers are in desperate need of workers and have raised wages, adjusted schedules, and loosened standards to combat the need. And yet, still, the demand is greater than the supply. Frank goes in to explain that the demand has really made this a candidates’ market. Companies are essentially competing for the same workers. He points out that though these are nice incentives, candidates are not always motivated by the increased wages, sign-on bonuses, or adjusted hours. He points out that by Eastern’s recruiting market research that candidates are more likely to pick a new position or stay in their current positions longer when the company’s culture emphasizes genuine employee appreciation.

This interview was featured on WBNG TV in the article titled, “The booming job market gives employees the upper hand.”
